Vintage Chic in Birmingham....

Yesterday was the fantastic Midlands Vintage Chic Wedding Fair in Birmingham.  After getting more than a little lost in deepest darkest Birmingham, we made it to the stunning venue – The Old Library, which was slowing being transformed by lots of talented suppliers into a vintage lover’s dream.

The fair was packed with brides and various additions who were really passionate about vintage and they certainly got great value for money from the stands on show!

Here are some quick pics from the Tattered Rose stand...

The forehead bands were once again a big hit, as were the jewellery pieces.

As usual I got the chance to chat to some of the other exhibitors and even take some photos!  I’ll share these with you over the next few days so keep a look out for some fabulous vintage inspired suppliers!

R & R for TR!

Last week, Mr B and I went to visit some of his family up in Cumbria.  We’re very lucky that his family live in such a lovely part of the country!

It was great to see Mr B’s Aunt, Uncle, cousins and the furry members of the family! Most of the time was spent relaxing, drinking (apple) tea and eating Auntie Marg’s famous ginger cake (with butter!)

We did, however, manage to pop out for a day in Keswick (for more tea drinking and cake eating!) I didn’t take many photos which is very unusual for me but here are some I snaps I took on my phone using Instagram...

We did also get the chance to play the odd game of bingo.  Mr B’s Auntie is a pro and can handle about 5 cards at a time! I struggle to keep up with the caller and just have the one............more practice needed I think!

Friday Sparkle #24

Here is some more newness that has been proving popular at recent fairs...

Lightweight, comfortable, satin covered headbands.  Some brides have told me they are afraid of the metal headbands, mainly haunted by bad memories of headaches and sore spots from wearing them at school!

I have to say, I wore a metal headband all day for my own wedding and didn’t have a problem but I understand the frustrations of those that do.  These headbands would work for brides or bridesmaids and are embellished with beads and diamantes, giving them a ‘grown up’ whimsical look.

Anyone would think I’ve just completed a computer studies course as the Tattered Rose online empire is ever growing recently!  I haven’t, I’ve just had a lot of time with my laptop, a lot of photographing, editing, uploading, writing descriptions, researching ............etc, etc!

So you can now view (nearly all) of the collection on the fabulous site that is Etsy.  If you’re not familiar with this site, check it out HERE and here’s a quick introduction (taken from the site)....

Our mission is to empower people to change the way the global economy works. We see a world in which very-very small businesses have much-much more sway in shaping the economy, local living economies are thriving everywhere, and people value authorship and provenance as much as price and convenience. We are bringing heart to commerce and making the world more fair, more sustainable, and more fun.

Tattered Rose has its own shop HERE and I’ve even managed to link it to the website, facebook, and this blog (just look on the column to the right!)
Gradually I’ll be adding more and more so keep your eyes peeled!

Getting chic!

This Sunday is the first of two Vintage Chic Wedding Fairs that Tattered Rose will be attending.  The first is at The Old Library in the Custard Factory, Birmingham-I can wait to see the venue, it looks and sounds so interesting!  There is a great line up of exhibitors and as usual I can’t wait to meet lots of excited brides and fellow exhibitors!

The next event is a little closer to home, at Stancliffe Hall near Matlock on 13th November.  There will be lots of local wedding suppliers there, can't wait!

Progress!

I’m not the most technically minded person so this had been a long time coming but I finally have some photos of Tattered Rose hair accessories on the website!

I spent a long time yesterday photographing, editing, uploading and writing captions.  I’ve so far got the collection of headbands on there, combs and jewellery will follow soon!
